The Studio
Hand-drawn textile and surface pattern design, created with human spirit and intention.
Designed by hand, with meaning. Not AI.
SeaClaire Design is an independent textile studio creating hand-drawn pattern collections shaped by Southern botanicals, European heritage, and a thoughtful global perspective.
Each design begins with hand sketches and observational studies before developing into repeat patterns or stand-alone illustrations. The work balances traditional botanical drawing with structured pattern design, resulting in textiles that feel both timeless and contemporary.
Motif development for textile pattern, by SeaClaire Design
Each design begins by hand, sketched in pencil through observation and study. Individual elements—petals, leaves, and branches—are drawn separately, then refined and composed into complete forms.
These hand-drawn components are developed digitally, where motifs are carefully arranged, adjusted, and rebuilt into balanced compositions or seamless repeats. Borders and structural elements are added to create a sense of rhythm and cohesion across each piece.
The process moves between hand and digital work, allowing for both precision and fluidity. Each design is developed over many hours, resulting in patterns that feel considered, layered, and enduring.
Hand drawn textile design printed on silk fabric, by SeaClaire Design
SeaClaire designs are produced on fine textiles using a reactive dye process for depth and longevity of color. Select pieces, including silk scarves, are finished with hand-rolled hems and created in small artisan batches.
